A little more about us

Peak Electronic Design was formally established in 1995 by Managing Director Jeremy Siddons.

Jeremy's interest in electronics started in early childhood, sometimes he was a little too inquisitive for a child! But surviving those early years, Jeremy continued to explore electronics as a hobby and at school. At the age of around 17, Jeremy designed an automatic Digital Transistor Analyser (The original DTA or DTA1.0) which he was encouraged to enter into the 1987 Young Engineer of Britain competition. He went on to win the regional finals and was a prize winner in the national finals of that same year. After that, Jeremy worked on many electronics projects but he found time to enhance his Digital Transistor Analyser design to make it suitable for publishing in a hobby magazine (Practical Electronics) and that design was completed in 1992, that was the DTA2.0.

Fast forward to 1995 and Jeremy decided to exploit his ideas for innovative handheld test equipment by starting Peak Electronic Design Ltd. Launching with a freshly redesigned and "production friendly" Digital Transistor Analyser, the DTA3.0. In fact it was called the DTA30 to avoid the use of an unnecessary decimal point!

Farnell (now part of Avnet) were Peak's first distribution partner, and helped us launch the DTA30. Farnell continue to be a very important partner to this day.

Things have evolved hugely since that exciting start. We still take great pride in designing and manufacturing all our products here in the UK.

Jeremy and his team fully design all our products and specialist equipment. All assembling, testing, calibrating, packing, and servicing of our products takes place in our premises in the Peak District. Our manufacturing materials are all sourced from UK and EU companies.
